About Me

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

So this is me, my new blog, my only blog, my first blog....Oh I can see I'm going to be a rambler already!  Well I'm not entirely sure what I want this blog to be about or even if I want to define it but what I do know is it will involve shopping, eating out, travel and all that fun stuff.

Well I should probably tell you a bit about me, I'm Kel, I'm 33 and live just outside London with my boyfriend Nick.  I've thought about writing a blog for a while but frankly I thought no one would want to read my ramblings, also there are so many out there already but then I realised, I'm doing this for me!  Even if my mum is the only person who reads it (and maybe my nan as she's very taken with her new laptop and being "on the line") it doesn't matter because this is just a great way for me to document some of the fun stuff I'm doing,  Maybe I'll use it like a journal, (that sounds more grown up than diary) for me to look back on and remind myself, on days when I'm feeling crappy that I'm pretty darn lucky and also to appreciate the smaller things.

I hope to include some reviews of things like beauty products, make up, places I've been etc as I read a lot of blogs myself and find these really helpful.
Something else that motivated me to start this blog is the fact that nearly all the bloggers or youtubers I follow are so much younger than I am.  There are a couple in their late twenties but as much as I don't feel 33 and I'm not ready to start shopping in the old lady section just yet, it's also a little unrelateable sometimes when you're watching a video on life issues from a 20 year old. Don't get me wrong these girls are awesome and I could spend a whole Sunday watching their videos or reading their blogs.  They are so inspiring but some times you want to read or watch someone your own age and I'm yet to find one that is as fun and engaging as the younger girls.  If you have any recommendations please leave them in the comments below, I'd love to find out who you guys are in to.

Ok what else? I met my boyfriend Nick online, which despite some negative and somewhat out of date opinions I am not afraid to admit this.  I was in my 30s with a busy social life and a full time job, most of my friends had paired off or were already married and the nights out in pubs and clubs came very few and far between. Despite working in a big place, it was slim pickings to say the least and so really other than taking a class or something which I didn't really have that much time for, what other options are there?  Online dating has long since lost its stigma and has now become pretty popular. I know a few people that have met and married people from sites like Plenty of Fish and Tinder.

I enjoyed my time in the online dating world. I went on some hilariously awful dates and some fantastic ones. I've actually made some great friends from it  The first guy I met online, I chatted to for ages, I was so scared to meet up but he seemed nice and eventually we arranged it.  Unfortunately it was really awkward and we barely talked.  I was so disappointed as I thought so much of him but there were no romantic feelings there whatsoever.  We agreed to remain friends and that we have.  We've been there for each other when we've needed relationship advice or just the odd chat.  He's great and I would count him as one of my best friends.  As lucky as that was, I have also met some total twats and although they provide the best stories (maybe i'll write a book one day) they also wear you down.  It was after one particular stinker of a date that I had decided enough was enough, I needed a break from dating but little did I know at this exact time a certain somebody had just decided to dip his toe in the online dating waters and so as luck, fate or whatever you want to call it would have it, I met Nick.  We have been very happily together for nearly two years now.  Our first date was awesome but perhaps I'll leave that for another time....

Thank you so much for stopping by my page and reading my ramblings. My next post should be along soonishly and it's a little review/what we did, when we went to New York.

Take care

Kel x
